FOR CHILDREN

16.09 (11:00 AM)

Don’t miss your chance to catch The Whistleberries as they bring their toe-tapping, tale-telling, hip-shaking hooley to the Festival Big Tent.

Deeply rooted in Irish traditional music, The Whistleberries have created a special Irish music experience for children that is sure to have everyone singing along!

With mesmerising Irish melodies on whistles, uilleann pipes, guitar, keyboard, and fiddle, children (and adults) can look forward to a wonderfully interactive show that will have everyone hooked!

At the heart of this musical adventure - which is infused with puppetry and storytelling - is the story of the creatures of Whistleberry Forest who have discovered a little oak tree growing deep in the woods. However, there are no birds singing, no leaves rustling, and no animals scurrying around its trunk. This delightful show takes children and accompanying adults on a journey through the forest where they explore musical instruments, sing, and dance, and help Ornaith the owl, Sorley the snail, and Faolán the frog bring the little oak tree to life.

The Whistleberries are: Dora Gola (vocals), Thomas Johnston (whistles/vocals), Imogen Gunner (fiddle/vocals), Séan McElwain (guitar/vocals), and Samantha Harvey (keyboard).

The Whistleberries performances at Cross Culture Festival is kindly supported by Culture Ireland
